Am-Can Business & Tech School, an Ontario private school in Vaughan, offers AI Coding Courses for students in grades 7 to 12. Complete beginners start at Level 0 with Python and build real AI projects, from a first chatbot to their own AI assistant. Self-paced and 100% online, with marked assessments and a Certificate of Completion at every level.
Free for Canadian citizens and permanent residents in grades 7 to 10, wherever they live, including in Nigeria. Other students pay a modest fee per level. One free assessment decides which applies to your child.
These are non-credit certificate courses: they do not count toward a high school diploma. What they give your child is a structured, high standard program from a real school, with proof of learning at every step. Here is how that compares with what most families find online.
| Am-Can AI Coding Courses | Typical free videos, apps and tutorials | |
|---|---|---|
| Certificate | A Certificate of Completion for every level passed, issued by Am-Can Business & Tech School, an Ontario private school that has received a BSID (667377) from the Ontario Ministry of Education. | An app badge, or no certificate at all. |
| Standard | Code is run and tested, projects are marked against a rubric, results arrive within 24 hours, and an instructor review is available on request. | Usually no marking and no feedback. |
| Path | Ten levels in a clear order, from the first line of Python to an AI assistant capstone. Each level ends with a working project. | Scattered lessons with no next step. |
| Proof | A portfolio of ten projects your child built and can show to schools and universities, in Canada or anywhere. | Little to show at the end. |
| Cost | Free for Canadian citizens and permanent residents in grades 7 to 10. A modest fee per level for other students, paid only when your child chooses to continue. Never a subscription. | Monthly subscriptions, or several hundred dollars for a few weeks of live classes. |
Every student starts at Level 0. Pass a level to open the next one. Click a level to see what your child will build.
Your child lives in Calgary, Edmonton or anywhere else in Canada, or spends a term with family in Nigeria. The courses run online, so learning continues wherever your child is that month.
Your child attends a junior or senior secondary school in Nigeria. AI coding with a Canadian school runs alongside regular school, at any time of day, with no class times to fit into the week.
Students who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents are welcome too, with a modest fee per level.
These are examples of common situations, not individual student stories.
The courses are self-paced and 100% online. There is no timetable and no class to join at a fixed hour. Each level has one deadline: the final assessment is due 2 weeks after the level opens for levels of 12 hours, or 3 weeks for longer levels. Finish early and move up sooner. The lessons, projects and course pages are in English.
Every fee, how to pay and the refund policy are on one page: AI Coding Courses: Fees and Payment.
Every student starts with one free online application. The school assesses it and emails the result, usually within an hour. That one assessment decides your child's path for the whole program.
